Why recalibration is needed in this season of your life

I hope you’re doing well and feeling blessed.

I just returned from a powerful 7-day retreat experience in Crete, Greece, with 10 other high-achieving bad-ass business women. This retreat was called Abundant and Wealthy AF.

It was a powerful, expansive and life-shifting journey! It was also filled with laughter, business training, wealth building, shopping, play and dancing.

It was more than I could have expected, and I’m still processing what’s happened.

The mornings started early at 7:00 am, breakfast at 8 and activities that went late into the night. There were many nights I was going to bed after 1 a.m. and that’s really late for me because I have such regular routines in my normal everyday life.

This retreat stretched my body, mind and spirit in such a good way, and now I’m paying the price of recalibration which requires rest, integration, silence and introspection.

I had no expectations about what this retreat was going to bring, leaning in to curiosity and the desire to deepen connections with clients and friends.

So here are 5 takeaways that I want to share with you about why retreat and recalibration is needed in this season of your life:

1. If you don’t take time to invest in yourself, then who will?

• All of these women paid in to attend this retreat and have a seat at the table. By investing in ourselves, we set the standards for how others would invest in working with us. This kind of mindset is invaluable and important if you’re in the service industry and you’re here to work with higher-level clients. You have to be willing to invest in your growth, education, training and expansion so you can serve these people who are making an impact in the world.

2. I’m worthy and deserving of what I desire.

• This statement was hammered into me by my coach, Shannon DeSouza, as she became unapologetic AF in claiming what she wanted. I realized that I was playing small, wanting to hide in anonymity and fly under the radar. That’s how I’ve always operated throughout my life. But flying under the radar makes the Universe work 10 times harder to deliver you what you desire. This retreat was an invitation to step out, embrace myself fully and let the world see me in my full, quirky, weird and off-beat funny self.

3. I can experience luxury travel and accommodations because I deserve it and I’ve worked hard for it.

• Worthiness is a big lesson for me, and I found myself embracing the beauty and lushness of my surroundings. I was greeted with beautiful gifts and treated to 5-7 course meals provided by private chefs and invited to dress the part - from Goddess wear to togas and looking fashionably fabulous. Something in me realized that I had up-leveled from my previous way of travel which was always looking for the best deal, cheapest place to stay and budgeting all the way through. No…Spirit showed me that it’s willing to give me what I think I’m worth. And I think I’m worthy of experiencing great things, don’t you?

4. It’s important to cultivate friendships and relationships that can last a lifetime.

• Early on in the retreat, I got a chance to take a picture of 5 clients that I’ve personally worked with 1:1. They were at this retreat with me, and this blew me away. These relationships have extended beyond sessions, becoming friends and allies with men and women I respect, admire and aspire to be. I tend to have a very introverted lifestyle so this retreat brought me out of my shell, pushing the envelope on what was “appropriate” and just laughing at the silliness of life and circumstances. I felt more comfortable and visible in my skin than I had ever before because I allowed these women to see me for who I really was. And in seeing them in their glorious beauty and power, I knew that we mirrored each other in the most magical and magnetic way.

5. It’s important to expand your mental capacity around money.

• One of the most powerful trainings I experienced was learning how to leverage wealth through real estate and private lending. Before, I thought I just wasn’t mature or wealthy enough to get involved with real estate or private lending, but that was before my mind was blown away by Rory Bloomfield. I realized that I just needed a good guide who knew what they were doing to show me the way. I now know that anything is possible when you allow yourself to dream bigger.

That’s what I want to leave you with today…recalibrating yourself this season to dream bigger.
